- Huntington Hornets (IHL, 1956-57) became Louisville Rebels
- Huntington Blizzard (ECHL, 1993-2000) volunarily suspend operations, return in 2003 as Texas Wildcatters, based in Beaumont
- Tri-State Hurricanes (International Independent Hockey League, 2003) never started, withdrew after league owner "disappeared"
- Huntington (Northern Professional Hockey League, 2011) league never gets started up
