This is a list of Edmonton Oilers head coaches. There have been 14 head coaches of the Edmonton Oilers since the team was formed as the Alberta Oilers for the 1972-73 WHA season. Bill Hunter, and Glen Sather have each had three tenures as coach. Sather led the team to four Stanley Cups, in 1984, 1985, 1987 and 1988, while John Muckler coached the 1990 championship team.
