Harri Säteri (born on December 29, 1989 in Toijala) is a Finnish professional ice hockey goaltender who is currently playing with the Sibir Novosibirsk of the KHL. He was selected 106th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Club career[]

Säteri's youth team is Tappara. In 2004 - 2006 played Säteri junior hockey with the HPK organisation. In 2006 moved Säteri back to the Tappara organisation and was the second goalie with the Tappara of the SM-liiga in a few games in the 2006-07 season. In this season played Säteri 2 games with the Tappara U18 team and 23 regular season games and 10 play-off games with the Tappara U20 team.

In the 2007-08 season made Säteri his senior debut playing 4 games on loan with the Suomi U20 of the Mestis. He was again the second goalie of the Tappara of the SM-liiga in a few games and also played 34 regular season games and 3 play-off games with the Tappara U20 team.

In the next season played Säteri 22 regular season games and 3 relegation games with the Tappara of the SM-liiga and 4 games on loan with the Suomi U20 of the Mestis.

Säteri continued with the Tappara of the SM-liiga during the 2009-10 season and was signed after that season by the San Jose Sharks organisation. He began the 2010-11 season on loan with the Tappara of the SM-liiga where he played another 37 games before moving to North America to finish the season with the Worcester Sharks of the AHL where he played 7 games in this season.

In the 2011-12 season played Säteri 38 games with the Worcester Sharks of the AHL and was also the second goalie in a few games with the San Jose Sharks of the NHL. Säteri then continued with the Worcester Sharks until the end of the 2013-14 season.

In 2014, Säteri signed with the Vityaz Podolsk of the KHL and stayed there until the end of the 2016-17 season. On September 25, 2016 was Säteri named the KHL Goaltender of the Week.

In 2017, he tried his luck in North America for the second time. He signed with the Florida Panthers organisation and played 9 games with the Florida Panthers of the NHL and 29 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds of the AHL in the 2017-18 season.

In the 2018-19 season played Säteri with the Detroit Red Wings organisation. He was only the second goalie in a few games with the Detroit Red Wings of the NHL and played 40 regular season games and 5 play-off games with the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL.

Since 2019, Säteri is playing with the Sibir Novosibirsk of the KHL. In October 2019 was Säteri named the KHL Goaltender of the Month. He is currently signed there until the end of the 2021-22 season.

International career[]

Säteri played with the Finnish National Team at the 2006 World U17 Hockey Challenge, 2007 World U18 Championship, 2008 and 2009 World Junior Championships and at the 2017 and 2018 World Championships.
