The Hampton Roads Whalers are a ice hockey team from Chesapeake, Virginia The team was established to commence play with the 1999-2000 season. They play in the USPHL Elite Division at the Chilled Ponds Ice Sports Complex.
The organization started out as a member of the Capital Beltway Hockey League (CBHL) in 1999. The team was a member of the Southeast Junior Hockey League from 2008 to 2011 and continued with the league when it becaom the EJHL-South for 2011 to 2013. The team then joined the USPHL Elite Division and the USPHL Empire Division. The team won the 2011-12 EJHL-South playoff championship.
