The Halifax City League was a senior league based in and around the city of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
History[]
It was first contested during the 1893-94 season. The Halifax Crescents, who won the league with an 8-0 record, challenged for the Stanley Cup in 1900. The league would be halted by the Nova Scotia Hockey League (1903-1911) which had the Halifax Crescents and Halifax Wanderers as members thus depleting the better hockey players from the area. The league would restart with the demise of the NSHL in 1911. Starting in 1921, the league's champions entered the Maritimes Senior Playoffs.

Notes:
- No champion declared for 1894-95 season as the Dartmouth Mutuals refused to play a March 22nd game as they objected to Frank Grierson as a judge of play for the second game of championship series. The Multals led the Dartmouth Chebuctos 4:3 after the first fame of the two game series.
- Dalhousie University won the league regular season championship; but refused to advance to the 1924-25 Maritimes Senior Playoffs, saying that its students could not take time off from their studies. A playoff was then held to determine a league representative.
- The 1927-28 Halifax Crescents were suspended due to being unavailable due to tour of Newfoundland
- Note: RCAF was ruled ineligible to compete in Allan Cup eligible leagues on January 10. Navy was allowed to compete playing for the Maritimes title, but not the Allan Cup. Navy advanced to the 1943-44 Maritimes Senior Playoffs.
