Gregtebbutt

Selected by Minnesota North Stars 8th round (#130) in 1977 NHL Amateur Draft
Selected by Birmingham Bulls 6th round (#49) in 1977 WHA Amateur Draft

Defenseman Greg Tebbutt played briefly with the Quebec Nordiques and Pittsburgh Penguins in the 80s. He was a rugged enforcer in his own end who also put up solid offensive numbers in junior and the minors.

Tebbutt played junior with three different clubs in the Western Hockey League and was drafted 130th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in 1977. After scoring 28 goals for the Flin Flon Bombers in 1977-78, Tebbutt split the next year between the minors and the WHA's Birmingham Bulls.

Following the WHA/NHL merger, Tebbutt was claimed on waivers by Quebec. Apart from his two game stint in the NHL he was a solid minor leaguer for the next four years and topped the 20-goal mark twice.

In July, 1983, the rugged defender signed with Pittsburgh and played 24 games that season. Following this he toiled in the minors before retiring in 1988. During the mid-80s he reached the 200 penalty minute mark and scored 20 goals in three straight seasons in the International Hockey League.

In the NHL he played in a total of 26 games and scored 3 assists.
