Greg Smyth (April 23, 1966-February 16, 2018) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played ten seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Philadelphia Flyers, Quebec Nordiques, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks. He was known as an enforcer during his playing career.

He was chosen 1st (22nd overall) by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft from the Ontario Hockey League's London Knights. Smyth played two more seasons for the Knights, making the second all-star team in his last junior season, 1985-86.

His career was mostly split between NHL and minor pro teams. Before his retirement in 2000, he played in 229 NHL games and scored 4 goals and 16 assists and 783 penalty minutes.

He would later play senior hockey and settle in Newfoundland and Labrador. He passed away in St. John's, Newfoundland & Labrador due to cancer on February 16, 2018 at the age of 51.
