
The Green Island Ice Arena is an arena opened in 1987. The arena is home of the Coulee Region Chill of the North American Hockey League. The Chill moved to the facility from the Onalaska OmniCenter for the 2014-15 season. The arena is also home to the La Crosse Freeze of the North American 3 Hockey League, who moved there from Flint, Michigan in 2014.
The arena was damaged by a tornado on May 22, 2011. The building suffered extensive damage to the north sided of the buillding that left the facility unusalbe until repairs wre completed in the fall of that year.
In early April 2020, the Coulee Region Chill (NA3HL) announced the team would not play during the 2020–21 season due to the city's decision to no longer operate Green Island Ice Arena.[1]
