Gordie Howe (b. March 31st 1928 in Floral, Saskatchewan, Canada) is a former professional hockey player who played in the National Hockey League for the Detroit Red Wings and in the World Hockey Association for the Houston Aeros and the New England Whalers. Howe was nicknamed Mr. Hockey.
Gordie Howe is second all-time in goals in NHL history with 801, behind only Wayne Gretzky who has 894. Howe was Gretzky's hero growing up.
Mr Hockey made 21 NHL All-Star teams, 12 times to the First Team. He won the The Art Ross Trophy and the The Hart Trophy six times each. He also won the Stanley Cup 4 times with the Detroit Red Wings.
