Gord Baldwin (born March 1, 1987 in Winnipeg, Manitoba) is a professional ice hockey defenceman playing for the BK Mladá Boleslav of the Czech Extraliga. Baldwin was drafted in the 3rd round (69th overall) by the Calgary Flames in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Junior career[]
Baldwin's juniors career began in 2003 when he signed with the Selkirk Steelers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, playing in only two games in his lone season with Selkirk. The following season, Baldwin signed with the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League. In three seasons with Medicine Hat, Baldwin scored 61 points in 190 regular season games and 21 points in 49 playoff games. Baldwin was a member of the 2007 President's Cup championship team (defeating Vancouver 4 games to 3) and runner up at the 2007 Memorial Cup (losing to Vancouver 3–1).
Professional career[]
Baldwin began his professional career in 2007, when he was assigned to the Quad City Flames of the American Hockey League. Baldwin would notch five assists in 37 games with Quad City and spent 12 game demotion to the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL producing one assist.
Baldwin was injured during training camp prior to the 2008-09 season and was assigned to the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers for conditioning. After three games and an assist with Las Vegas, Baldwin was called up to the AHL's Quad City Flames.
