The Goderich Memorial Arena is an indoor arena that opened around 1949 in Goderich, Ontario.
The arena would be permanently closed in August of 2018 after an aging ammonia refrigeration system was deemed to be unsafe after an inspection was done the month before. The system was deemed to have issues with heavy rust on the pipe and the system was aging and the design was likely to leak due to the ammonia being under the cement slab under the ice as opposed to being contained in a mechanical room.[1]
