The Glace Bay Miners were a team in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. They were a senior, intermediate, and junior team at various times.
Senior Team[]
History[]
The Miners played in the Cape Breton Senior Hockey League from 1937-38 through 1949-50 with the exception of 1943-46 when they were replaced by military teams during World War II.
They won that league's title in 1937-38, 1941-42, and 1946-47. In 1941-42 they went on to win their only Maritimes Senior Championship.
In 1950-51 the league's classification was changed to Major. It then folded after one season. The Miners then joined the Maritime Major Hockey League until it, too, folded in 1954.
The Cape Breton Senior Hockey League was restarted in 1956-57 and the Miners were in that league until it folded in 1964. The Miners won the league title in 1958-59, 1960-61, and 1962-63.
