Its capital and largest city is Tbilisi. It is bordered by Russia to the north, Turkey and Armenia to the south, and Azerbaijan to the east.

Georgia joined the IIHF on May 8 2009, it has not participated in any IIHF tournaments.There are 3 ice rinks and there is a 4 team league made up of the Ice Knights, Grey Wolves, Fiery Crusaders, and Mimino. In 1962 the Georgian national team beat Armenia by the score of 4-1, lost to Kazakhstan 11-3 and Lithuania 5-2. The national team did not play again until 2010 when it played games against Armenia, losing 22-1, and South Africa, losing 8-1.
