Geoff Arthur Smith (born March 7, 1969 in Edmonton, Alberta) was a professional ice hockey player in the National Hockey League from 1989 to 1999.

Playing career[]

Geoff Smith played for the Tier II Junior "A" St. Albert Saints in 1986-87 and then spent two seasons with the University of North Dakota. He was drafted in the 3rd round, 63rd overall, in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Oilers.

He won the Stanley Cup as a rookie with Edmonton in the 1989–90 season. After three more seasons with the Oilers Smith was traded to the Florida Panthers part way through the 1992-93 season. Smith remained in the Panthers' organisation until he became a New York Ranger in 1997–98. He retired in 1999 following his second season with the Rangers.

He is currently working as an assistant coach with the Western Hockey League's Kamloops Blazers.
