Garybegg

Gary Begg (born Deecember 29, 1940, in Moosomin, Saskatchewan) is a retired Canadian centre.

He played junior hockey for the Toronto Marlboros from 1957 to 1959. Begg then joined the Michigan Tech Huskies of the NCAA, helping the team to its first national title in 1962.

In 1963 Begg joined the Canada national ice hockey team and remained with them until 1969 when he retired.

He played in the 1964 and 1968 Olympics, winning a bronze medal in the latter.

Gary Begg was named to First Allstar Team 1966 IIHF World Championships (2)

Captain of Canada's National Hockey from 1965 - 1969. Inducted into the Michigan Tech Huskies Hall of Fame. National championship in 1962. Best defenseman award where he earned the Gitzen-Loutit Award as the team's top blue liner in 1963 while at Michigan Tech. (1)
