Gabriel Lévesque (born May 23, 1990, in Montreal, Quebec) is a Canadian professional Ice Hockey Center who most recently played for the Missouri Mavericks of the ECHL.
Levesque spent his Midget Ice Hockey playing two seasons with the Prédateurs du collège Édouard-Montpetit of the Ligue de hockey midget AAA.[1]
Levesque then played for the Major Junior Ice Hockey for the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies and Acadie-Bathurst Titan of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2007 to 2011.[2] No NHL team drafted Levesque, but he was invited to the 2011 Training Camp of the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League.[3]
On October 3, 2011, the Sharks assigned Lévesque to the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, where he would play for the next 2 seasons.[4] Lévesque spent the 2013-14 season with the Quad City Mallards of the Central Hockey League.[4] Lévesque started the 2014-15 season with the Rapaces de Gap of Ligue Magnus, but left the team after only 5 games.[4] On November 13, 2014, Levesque signed with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, but, after playing only 4 games for the team, he was released by the team on November 29, 2014.[4][5][6]
After leaving the Stingrays, Lévesque signed a 3-game tryout with the Peoria Rivermen of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL), which was converted into a contract with the team on December 8, 2014.[7][8][4] On December 22, 2014, the Rivermen traded Lévesque to the Huntsville Havoc of the SPHL in exchange for Mike Gurtler.[9][7]
On December 26, 2014, Lévesque left the Havoc and re-signed with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, but he was traded that same day to the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL.[10] On March 6, 2015, the Condors traded Lévesque to the Missouri Mavericks of the ECHL in exchange for future considerations.[11] On March 16, 2015, the Mavericks released Lévesque.[12]
