The Frog Lake T-Birds were a Canadian Junior B hockey team, based in Frog Lake, Alberta, Canada. They play in the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League, out of the New Horizons Arena. They are coached by Wayne Dion.
The team would cease operations during the 2019 playoffs due to a lack of players. The team citing the influx of new junior teams in the area (from the Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League and the Western States Hockey League). The team had hoped to return for the 2019-20 season but they would not be able to put a team on the ice for the season.
History[]
The Frog Lake T-Birds were founded in 2014, entering the North Eastern Alberta Junior B Hockey League. They finished 7th overall in their debut season as a young team,[1] and an older, more experienced team had developed over the next two seasons compiling better records and making it to the league semifinals by the 2016-17 season.
