The Frederick Freeze are a USA Hockey-sanctioned ice hockey team from Frederick, Maryland. The team plays out of the Skate Frederick facility. The team began play in the Contintental Hockey Association in 2007. The organization started up a second team in the Empire Junior Hockey League in 2013. The CHA team transferred to the Eastern States Hockey League in 2011 and then to the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League in 2013 where they withdrew. The Empire team transferred to the USPHL (along with the rest of the league) for the 2013-14 season.
