Fred Hilts (born June 4, 1939 in Kennedy, Saskatchewan) was a Canadian left winger who played exclusively in the minor pro leagues in his career from 1958 to 1973. He played junior for the St Catharines TeePees of the Ontario Hockey Association.

Hilts was property of the Chicago Blackhawks, Montreal Canadians and, the⁣⁣ Detroit Red Wings.

During the 1963-64 Season Hilts was a Player-Coach For the Spirit River Rangers of the South Peace Hockey League after refusing to play for Eddie Shore and the Springfield Indians. The Season Prior he played for the Cleveland Barons in the American Hockey League.

Hilts played for the San Diego Gulls of the Western Hockey League from 1966-67 to 1970-71.

He was an Eastern Professional Hockey League All-Star in 1960-61.

In 1976-77 Hilts was the coach of the junior Calgary Centennials.
