Franz Voves (b. February 28th 1953 in Graz, Styria, Austria) is a retired center.

Voves played for ATSE Graz of the Österreichische Eishockey Liga, with whom he won one Austrian league title, in 1975. He also represented his Austrian National Team, playing 75 games for Austria in seven World Championships and one Olympic tournament, that of 1976, at home in Innsbruck.

Following his playing days, Voves turned to other occupations, including being president and vice-president of the ASKÖ-Styria and ASKÖ-Association. ASKÖ stands for Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Sport und Körperkultur in Österreich (the "Association for Sport and body culture of Austria"), one of the three umbrella sports associations of Austria. He later turned to politics, joining the SPÖ (Sozialdemokratische Partei Österreichs, the Social Democratic Party of Austria). On March 12th 2002, he was elected head of the Styrian government.
