Fort Nelson is a community within the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality in northeastern British Columbia. Until February 6, 2009 it was an independent town. The community is located along the Alaska Highway at the 300 mile mark. Fort Nelson had a population of 3,366 as of the 2016 census.
