The Florida Eels is a Tier III Junior A ice hockey organization playing in the United States Premier Hockey League's Elite and USP3 divisions . The team play at the Fort Myers Skatium located in Fort Myers, Florida.
The organization was established as the Fort Myers Eels in or before 2006. The organization was renamed the Florida Eels in 2007. The organization was a member of the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League from 2008 to 2011. The organization operated a second team that was also a member of the Southeast Junior Hockey League from 2009-2011. The organization sat out the 2008-09 season. During this season the International Junior Hockey League operated a team called Team Florida out of the same arena. The organization operated just two teams starting in 2009 (one in the Southeast Junior Hockey League and one in the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League. They dropped to one team with a team in the EJHL South. They went back to two teams when the United States Premier Hockey League was formed in 2013, with teams operating in the Elite and Empire (now USP3)Divisions.
