Filip Pešán was born on January 4, 1978 in Liberec. He is a former Czech ice hockey forward and currently an ice hockey coach. He is currently the head coach of the Czech National Team.
Player career[]
Pešán began his junior career with the HC Dynamo Pardubice organisation. In 1995, he moved to the HC Dukla Jihlava organisation to play there for one season with their junior team.
In 1996, Pešán moved to his hometown team HC Liberec and he made there his senior debut playing 13 games this season with the HC Liberec of the 1. Liga.
In the 1997-98 season, Pešán played only for the junior team of the HC Liberec.
In the 1998-99 season, he played 7 games for the HC Liberec of the 1. Liga.
In the next season, Pešán played 34 games for the HC Liberec of the 1. Liga and 8 games for the HC Benátky nad Jizerou of the 2. Liga.
In the 2000-01 season, Pešán played mostly for the HC Děčín of the 2. Liga. He played there 16 games. He also played 5 games with the Bílí Tygři Liberec (formerly HC Liberec) of the 1. Liga.
In the 2001-02 season, he played 35 games with the HC Jalonec nad Nisou of the 2. Liga and 3 games with the Bílí Tygři Liberec of the 1. Liga.
Pešán played most of the 2002-03 season again with the HC Jablonec nad Nisou of the 2. liga, but he also played 2 games for the Bílí Tygři Liberec of the Tipsport Extraliga.
Pešán began the 2003-04 season with the HC Benátky nad Jizerou of the 2. Liga, but after 15 games, he moved to the HC Jablonec nad Nisou of the 2. Liga for the remiander of the season.
He continued with the HC Jablonec nad Nisou for the 2004-05 season.
Pešán then spent the 2005-06 season with the HC Vrchlabí of the 2. Liga.
In 2006, Pešán moved to North America to play his last season with the St. Francis Xavier Univ. of the CIS.
