Okanagan-coyotes

Overview[]

"Coyotes" is the name of the sports teams from Okanagan College, located in Kelowna and various other cities in British Columbia. They operated in the British Columbia Intercollegiate Hockey League (BCIHL) from 2009-10 to 2011-12. They operate in the Pacific West Athletic Association in basketball and the Canadian College Baseball Conference in baseball.

Starting in 2021-22, players from the Kelowna Campus became eligible to play on an independent collegiate transfer team called the Okanagan Lakers, with players from UBC Okanagan Heat.

Starting in 2022-23, players from the Kamloops Campus became eligible to play on an independent collegiate transfer team called the Logan Lake Miners with players from Thompson Rivers University and Nicola Valley Institute of Technology. The Logan Lake Miners replaced a proposed team called the Thompson Okanagan Pioneers that never got off the ground.
