Doug Brindley with the Cleveland Crusaders
Doug Brindley (Born - June 8, 1949 in Walkerton, Ontario) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey forward who played 3 games in the National Hockey League for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He would also play 103 games in the World Hockey Association with the Cleveland Crusaders.
He played junior hockey for the Niagara Falls Flyers from 1967 to 1969, winning the Memorial Cup in 1968. The Toronto Maple Leafs chose him 20th overall in the 1969 NHL Amateur Draft.
Brindley only managed to get into three games for the Leafs in 1970-71, scoring no points, Otherwise he spent 1969 to 1972 in the minors. He jumped to the WHA's Cleveland Crusaders in 1972-73, spending a season and a half with them. Brindley played in the minors until his retirement in 1976.
In the WHA, Brindley scored 28 goals and 20 assists in 103 games.
