The Espanola Eagles were a junior team.
Originally they played in the Junior A Northern Ontario Junior Hockey Association. They won the league title in the league's inagaural season (1962-63) but steadily deteriorated after that, They folded in 1971, a year before the league did.
When the Tier II league was started up in 1978, the Eagles were a member. They did not do well, however, and folded in 1988.
Another try was made in 1991, but the team only lasted for four seasons before folding.
The Espanola Screaming Eagles started up in 1998.
