The Eskasoni Eagles are a Junior "B" team that was awarded as an expansion team to begin play with the 2018-19 season as a member of the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League.[1] The team is based out of the Dan K. Stevens Memorial Arena in the Eskasoni First Nation in Nova Scotia.
Origins of team[]
The team was established out of a fund raiser done by another team in the community, the "Dirty Wristers" who used the "Catch the Joker" game as a fund raiser. The team did so well with the fundraiser that it had donated stoves to a church in the community, helped fund a community pilgrimage fund, and paid for a disabled girl to go on a vacation trip to Florida. The excess from the fundraiser was put towards the establishment of a Junior "B" team for the community.[2]
