1972 program.

The Edmonton Monarchs were a senior team in Edmonton, Alberta. They played out of the Edmonton Gardens.

The Edmonton Nuggets were renamed the Monarchs on January 14, 1968, after the players took over the team when the owner pulled out, losing too much money. They finished the season in the Western Canada Senior Hockey League.

The next three seasons (1968-69, 1969-70, and 1970-71) the Monarchs played in the Alberta Senior Hockey League.

The Monarchs played in the Prairie Senior Hockey League in 1971-72 and finished in first place. They did not play in the league playoffs but represented Alberta in the Allan Cup playoffs.

They folded for financial reasons in 1972. In any case the Alberta Oilers of the World Hockey Association were starting up in 1972-73 and would have crowded out the Monarchs.
