A map of Eastern Canada.
Geographically, Eastern Canada is the portion of Canada that includes:
- Ontario (but sometimes excluding Northwestern Ontario)
- Quebec
- New Brunswick
- Nova Scotia
- Newfoundland and Labrador
- Prince Edward Island
This was usually what made up the Eastern Canada playoffs for the Allan Cup and Memorial Cup prior to the reorganization of both championships qualifying format.
When the format was adjusted for the Allan Cup to the present five region plus host format, the Eastern Canada region was changed to being the province of Quebec, Ontario became the Central Canada Region, and the Atlantic Region was made up of the provinces of New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
