Doug Zmolek (born November 3, 1970 in Rochester, Minnesota, United States) is a retired professional ice hockey defenseman who played in the NHL for eight seasons between 1992 and 2000.

Zmolek graduated from John Marshall High School in 1989.He was drafted 7th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He played for the University of Minnesota for three years before turning pro in 1992-93. His first NHL team was the San Jose Sharks, who had claimed him in the 1991 NHL Expansion Draft.

He was a steady, defensive, 'stay-at-home' defenceman. Zmolek played for the Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings, and Chicago Blackhawks. He never played in the minor pros until his last season (2000-01) when he played 2 games with the Chicago Wolves.

He played 467 career NHL games, scoring 11 goals and 53 assists for 64 points. Zmolek also registered 905 penalty minutes in his career.
