Douglas Edward Patey (born December 20, 1956 in Toronto, Ontario) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player.

He played junior hockey for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds from 1974 to 1976 and was chosen 73rd overall by the Washington Capitals in the 1976 NHL Amateur Draft and 66th overall by the Phoenix Roadrunners in the 1976 WHA Amateur Draft.

Patey opted for the Capitals and split the 1976-77 season between the Capitals and Dayton Gems. He then spent the next two seasons with the Hershey Bears with some limited ice time with the Capitals.

In 1979 the Edmonton Oilers chose him in the 1979 NHL Expansion Draft. However, he played the entire 1979-80 season in the Central Hockey League. In 1980-81 he played for SaPKo Savonlinna in Finland and retired.

In the NHL Patey played in 45 games and scored 4 goals and 2 assists.
