Elwin Nelson "Doc" Romnes (January 1 1907 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota – July 21, 1984 in Colorado Springs, Colorado) was a professional hockey player in the NHL.
He played for three seasons (1927-28 to 1929-30) with the St. Paul Saints of the American Hockey Association before joining the Chicago Black Hawks in 1930-31. Romnes played eight seasons for the Hawks, winning the Stanley Cup twice in 1933-34 and 1937-38.
Romnes was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1938 and then was sent to the New York Americans in 1939 as part of the trade for Sweeney Schriner. He retired after the 1939-40 season.
He then became coach of Michigan Tech until 1945. In 1945-46 he coached the Kansas City Pla-Mors to the United States Hockey League championship. From 1947-52 he was the coach of the University of Minnesota.
