The Deutsche Eishockey-Bund (DEB) has been the responsible federation of ice hockey associations (since its establishment on June 16, 1963) for the sport of ice hockey in Germany (until 1990 exclusively for the Federal Republic of Germany and West Berlin). Up to the time of the establishment of the DEB ice hockey was run by the Deutscher Eissport-Verband.

With the establishment the Deutsche Eishockey-Bund it took over the running of the supraregional leagues (especially the Bundesliga) and of the national team. It also became the West German representative in the International Ice Hockey Federation.
