Derrick Smith (born January 22, 1965) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey centre who played ten seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Philadelphia Flyers, Minnesota North Stars and Dallas Stars.

He played junior hockey with the Peterborough Petes and was chosen 44th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 1983 NHL Entry Draft.

Smith played 7 seasons as a Flyer regular, making the Stanley Cup finals twice. The Minnesota North Stars claimed him on waivers in 1991, but his NHL career was just about over. After a game with the Dallas Stars in 1993-94, he moved to the minor pros for five more years.

He retired in 1999.
