Derek Joslin (born March 17, 1987) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman currently playing for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League (NHL).
Playing career[]
Joslin was drafted in the 5th round, 149th overall, of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks from the Ottawa 67's of the Ontario Hockey League. As a member of the 67's, Joslin led the team in scoring among defencemen in the 2005–06 season, and was selected to take part in the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge. On December 28, 2006, the Sharks signed Joslin to an entry level contract.[1] He made his NHL debut with the San Jose Sharks on January 3, 2009, in a game against the New York Islanders.[2] Joslin was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on February 18, 2011 in exchange for future considerations.[3] On July 8, 2011, it was announced that the Carolina Hurricanes had agreed with Derek Joslin on a two-year contract.[4]
