Playing career 2005–present

Dennis Rasmussen (born on July 3, 1990 in Västerås) is a Swedish professional ice hockey center. He is currently playing with the Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL.

Club career[]

Rasmussen played as a junior with the VIK Västerås HK organisation. He made his senior debut playing 15 regular season games and 5 Kvalserien SHL games with the VIK Västerås HK of the HockeyAllsvenskan in the 2008-09 season. In this season, he also played 40 regular season games and 3 play-off games with the VIK Västerås HK under-20 team.

In his last junior season, the 2009-10 season, Rasmussen played 3 regular season games and 5 play-off games with the VIK Västerås HK junior team and 44 games with the VIK Västerås HK of the HockeyAllsvenskan.

He continued with the VIK Västeras HK of the HockeyAllsvenskan in the next season before he was brought to the Växjö Lakers HC after their promotion to the Elitserien on April 14, 2011. After two successful seasons establishing a position within the team, Rasmussen was re-signed to a two-year extension on January 30, 2013.[1]

Following a successful 2013-14 SHL (formerly Elitserien) season with the Växjö Lakers HC, in which he finished 10th in league scoring with 40 points, Rasmussen agreed to a one-year entry level contract with the Chicago Blackhawks organisation on June 10, 2014.[2] He spent the 2014-15 season with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL.

After this season, Rasmussen continued with the Blackhawks organisation. In the 2015-16 season, he played 44 games with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL and 25 regular season games and 3 play-off games with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL. Then he played the whole 2016-17 season with the Blackhawks.

In 2017, Rasmussen signed with the Anaheim Ducks organisation. In the 2017-18 season, he played 27 games with the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL and 17 games with the San Diego Gulls of the AHL. In the end of the 2017-18 season, Rasmussen moved back to Europe to finish the season with the Växjö Lakers HC of the SHL. He played with the Lakers 7 regular season games, 13 play-off games and won the SHL.

Since 2018, Rasmussen is playing with the Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the KHL. He is signed there until the end of the 2020-21 season.

International career[]

He played with the Swedish National Team at the 2010 World Junior Championship (winning there bronze medal) and at the 2014 and 2019 World Championships (winning bronze medal in 2014).
