David Tomášek was born on February 10, 1996 in Praha. He is a Czech ice hockey center/right winger currently playing with the HC Sparta Praha of the Tipsport Extraliga.
Club career[]
Tomášek's youth team is the HC Sparta Praha. In the 2010-11 season, Tomášek played with the Motor City Metal Jackets organisation. In 2011 - 2013 played Tomášek with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies organisation.
In 2013 - 2015, Tomášek played with the Belleville Bulls of the OHL.
In 2015, Tomášek returned to Europe to play with the HC Dynamo Pardubice organisation. He played 1 game with the HC Dynamo Pardubice under-20 team, 40 regular season games and 6 relegation games with the HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Tipsport Extraliga and 4 games on loan with the HC Šumperk of the 1. Liga in the 2015-16 season. In this season, he was also the junior who scored most points (12) in the whole Tipsport Extraliga.
In 2016 - 2018, Tomášek continued with the HC Dynamo Pardubice of the Tipsport Extraliga.
In 2018, Tomášek signed with the JYP of the Liiga. He spent there the whole 2018-19 season and also began the 2019-20 season but after 7 games played in the 2019-20 season, Tomášek moved back to Czechia to finish the season with the HC Sparta Praha of the Tipsport Extraliga. He played there 38 games in this season.
Tomášek decided to continue with the HC Sparta Praha of the Tipsport Extraliga in the 2020-21 season. He is currently signed there until the end of the 2021-22 season.
International career[]
Tomášek played with the Czech National Team at the 2016 World Junior Championship.
