In 2010 - 2013, Sklenička played junior hockey with the HC Kladno (later Rytíři Kladno) organisation
Sklenička made his senior debut playing with the HC Berounští Medvědi of the 1. Liga during the 2013-14 season.

Liga and 20 regular season games and 4 play-off games with the junior team of the HC Plzeň.
Next season, Sklenička stayed with the HC Plzeň and played there 46 regular season games and 10 play-off games and also played 1 game on loan with the HC Klatovy of the 2. Liga and 2 games with the HC Plzeň junior team.

On May 28, 2018, Sklenička as a free agent, signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Montréal Canadiens organisation.[2] He played the whole 2018-19 season with the Laval Rocket of the AHL.
Approaching the final year of his contract with the Canadiens in the 2019–20 season, Sklenička continued his tenure with AHL affiliate, the Laval Rocket. After the 2019-20 season, Sklenička signed a two-year contract with the Jokerit.
