David Němeček was born on June 29, 1995 in Plzeň. He is a Czech ice hockey defenceman currently playing with the HC Sparta Praha of the Tipsport Extraliga.
Club career[]
Němeček began his junior career with the HC Plzeň 1929 organisation. In 2012 moved Němeček to North America to play with the Sarnia Sting of the OHL. After one season there, he moved to the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL for the 2013-14 season.
In 2014, Němeček moved to the TPS organisation and made his senior debut in the 2014-15 season. He played 41 regular season games and 11 play-off games with the TPS under-20 team and 4 games with the TPS of the Liiga,
During the 2015-16 season played Němeček with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL.
In the next season played Němeček with the HC Plzeň of the Tipsport Extraliga.
In 2017 - 2019, Němeček played with the BK Mladá Boleslav of the Tipsport Extraliga.
In the 2019-20 season played Němeček with the Lukko of the Liiga.
In 2020, Němeček signed a one-year contract with the HC Sparta Praha of the Tipsport Extraliga. After the end of the 2020-21 season, Němeček extended his contract for another 2 seasons.
International career[]
Němeček played with the Czech National Team at the 2012 World U17 Hockey Challenge, 2013 World U18 Championship and at the 2014 and 2015 World Junior Championships (being selected one of the top 3 players on the Czech squad at the 2015 tournament).
