Dan Frawley (b. June 2nd 1962 in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada) is a former professional right winger who played in the National Hockey League for the Chicago Blackhawks and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Selected 204th overall of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft by the Blackhawks, Frawley made his NHL debuts in the 1984-85. He was, in 1987, claimed off the waivers by the Penguins, with whom he had his best time in the NHL. Two years after having been claimed by the Pens, his leadership was honoured by Pittsburgh as he was named team captain. He only held the title for two months however, as a serious injury forced him to hand the title over to Mario Lemieux.
Frawley's NHL days were over in 1989 as he returned for good in the American Hockey League, retiring in 1993. He did a three years come back in 1995, and retired once for all in 1998, after winning the Calder Cup with the Rochester Americans in 1996.
Dan has 2 sons that play professional hockey, David at 6'1 194 lbs [b. Jan. 26th 1984 in Sudbury Ontario Canada] last played for Flint in the UHL in 06/07, and Daniel. J.R. at 6' 2 212 lbs [b.Jan. 2nd 1989 in Pittsburgh Pa. U.S.A.]playing in the Junior Leagues in Canada last team Gatineau Olympiques QMJHL.
