Damien Fleury (born on February 1, 1986 in Caen) is a French ice hockey right/left winger who is currently playing with the Grenoble of the Ligue Magnus.

Club career[]

Fleury began his senior career in the 2003-04 season when he played 11 games with the Caen of the FFHG Division 1 and also 13 games with the Caen under-18 team.

In the 2004-05 season, Fleury played with the Caen of the FFHG Division 1 and in the 2005-06 season, he continued with the Caen now playing in the Ligue Magnus. In the 2005-06 season, he also won the Jean-Pierre Graff Trophy for the Ligue Magnus' best young player.

In the 2006-07 season played Fleury with the Villard-de-Lans organisation. He played 7 games with the Villard-de-Lans under-22 team and 26 regular season games plus 6 play-off games with the Villard-de-Lans of the Ligue Magnus. In this season, he became the French champion.

In the next season played Fleury 25 regular season games and 6 play-off games with the Grenoble of the Ligue Magnus and also one game with the Grenoble under-22 team. In this season, Fleury became the French Cup champion.

Fleury then continued with the Grenoble of the Ligue Magnus until the end of the 2009-10 season. In the 2008-09 season, he became the French champion, the French Cup champion, the Ligue Magnus Cup champion and made it into the French All-Star Team. In the 2009-10 season was Fleury selected into the French All-Star Team again and also won the Albert Hassler Trophy for the Ligue Magnus' best French player.

After that, Fleury spent the 2010-11 season with the VIK Västerås HK of the HockeyAllsvenskan.

Fleury then began the 2011-12 season with the Luleå HF of the Elitserien. He played there 20 games before heading to the Timrå IK of the Elitserien for the remainder of the season. He played there 32 regular season games and 8 Kvalserien SHL games.

In the following season played Fleury with the Södertälje SK of the HockeyAllsvenskan. In this season, he was the HockeyAllsvenskan's best goalscorer with 29 goals recorded.

Fleury decided to continue with the Södertälje SK of the HockeyAllsvenskan for the next season but after 25 games played, Fleury moved to the Lausanne HC of the NLA where he finished the season with 8 games played.

Fleury began the 2014-15 season with the Sport of the Liiga. He played there 40 games before moving to the Djurgårdens IF of the SHL (formerly Elitserien) for the remainder of the season. He played there 16 regular season games and 2 play-off games.

Fleury then spent the following season with the Schwenninger Wild Wings of the DEL and in the 2016-17 season played Fleury with the Kunlun Red Star of the KHL.

In 2017, Fleury signed with the Lukko of the Liiga but after just 19 games played, he moved back to the Schwenninger Wild Wings of the DEL and finished there the season with 32 regular season games and 2 play-off games played.

Since 2018, Fleury is playing with the Grenoble of the Ligue Magnus. In the 2018-19 season became Fleury the French champion and in the 2019-20 season won Fleury the Albert Hassler Trophy for the second time. He is currently signed there until the end of the 2020-21 season.

International career[]

Fleury played with the French National Team at the 2006 World Junior Championship Division I and at the 2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 World Championships. He was selected one of the top 3 players on the French team at the 2013, 2015, 2018 and 2019 tournaments.
