The Dalhousie Tigers is the name women's ice hockey team and all of the sports teams representing Dalhousie University which is located in the downtown section of the Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia.  The team is a member of the Atlantic University Sport Women's League and has been since its founding in 1997.

Arenas

The team is presently based out of the Halifax Forum with a few games scheduled at the Halifax Civic Arena (which is an annex to the Forum).  For a few seasons the team was based out of the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro, Nova Scotia about 100 km (62 miles from campus), which is home to the university's agricultural campus.  The team was previously based out of the Dalhousie Memorial Arena, from the team women's team joining Atlantic University Sport Women's conference until the arena closed and was demolished in 2012 to make room for new housing on campus.  For several years Dalhousie has been working with St. Mary's University (which is also located in the downtown section of the HRM) and the HRM on trying to build a new arena to host both universities men's and women's hockey teams as well as for youth and high school hockey.  The regional municipality has been closing several older rinks in the area and ice time has become at a premium.  A multiple ice sheet arena opened across Halifax Harbour in the former city of  Dartmouth.  Other similar facilities have been proposed to streamline operations and land has become increasingly more difficult to get as the urban core of the HRM has expanded further out from the old downtown area.
