Dale Mitchell (born April 9, 1989 in Etobicoke, Ontario) is a Canadian ice hockey right winger currently in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization.
Playing career[]
Mitchell was chosen 74th overall in the third round by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft from the Oshawa Generals of the Ontario Hockey League. He attended Streetsville Secondary School in Mississauga, where he played for the Streetsville Tigers. Mitchell and linemate Cameron Lindsay were able to bring Streetsville their first ever hockey gold medal. Mitchell signed an entry level contract with the Maple Leafs on May 4, 2008, and was subsequently sent down to the Marlies during their 2007–08 AHL playoff run. Mitchell spends his summers training with the Prairie Dogs in the ASHL.
Mitchell returned to the OHL in the 2008–09 season with the Windsor Spitfires where he won the Memorial Cup.
After attending the Maple Leafs' 2009 pre-season training camp, Mitchell was assigned to the Marlies on September 19, 2009 and then shortly demoted back to junior. He won the Memorial Cup again in 2010.
He played for the Toronto Marlies and the Reading Royals in 2010-11.
