Coralville is a city in eastern Iowa. It is a suburb of Iowa City, Iowa. The city had a population of 18,907 as of the 2010 US Census.
The city is the proposed location for a 4,200 seat arena which would be the home for the University of Iowa men's hockey program. The arena is tentatively scheduled for a late 2016 ground breaking with a completion date of early 2019. Among other tenants for the building is a possible United States Hockey League team. By the time the arena officially opened in September on 2020 an ECHL franchise was secured but an official announcement was not made immediately as the owner of the Newfoundland Growlers team has secured two additional franchises in the league along with a team in Trois-Rivières, Québec with them both likely starting with the 2021-22 playing season. The league's Board of Governors approved the addition of the two teams to the league for the 2021-22 season on January 12, 2021.[1]
