The Commonwealth of Independent States was the successor to the Soviet Union for a short time in 1992 & 1993.
It still exists but now each of its member states enters its own teams in international competitions.

The Unified Team represented the former Soviet Union countries at the 1992 Winter Olympics and the IIHF 1992 world junior championships. They won the Gold Medal in ice hockey at both events.
