Cobalt-Haileybury Curling Club Curling Arena

modern photo of rink

The Cobalt-Haileybury Curling Club Curling Rink was an indoor arena located in Haileybury, Ontario.  The namesake club and arena were established in 1906 along with the Haileybury Comets hockey team.

The arena still exists but apparently had a new building built over the ice sheet

The arena served as the home of the Haileybury Comets of the National Hockey Association for the 1910 National Hockey Association season. The team was originally founded in 1906 and would play in the Temiscaming Professional Hockey League from 1906 to 1909 and jump to the National Hockey Association when it was formed in late 1909.  The team would return to the TPHL when the league was reestablished for 1911 TPHL season and the leaugue would fold following that season.  The would then jump to the Timiskaming Senior Hockey League until the team folded in 1915.
