Centerfire Place (part of the Thickwood Heights Community Center) is located in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, and is best known as the home of the Alberta Junior Hockey League's Fort McMurray Oil Barons. The facility houses a 1533 seat arena, multi-purpose room, amphitheatre, and pottery guild.[1]
Major sporting events held at the arena include the 2004 Arctic Winter Games and the 2000 Doyle and Royal Bank Cups. The facility will also host some of the ice hockey events of the 2023 Arctic Winter Games.
The arena was previously known as the Thickwood Heights Arena until it was renamed early in 2013. The naming rights deal as Casman Centre expired in 2020 and the arena was renamed to Centerfire Place.[2]
