Cedric Paquette (born August 13, 1993) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League (NHL). Paquette was selected by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 4th round (101st overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Playing career[]
Paquette played major junior hockey in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) with the Montreal Juniors and Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, scoring 58 goals and 73 assists for 131 points, with 193 penalty minutes, in 130 games played.
On May 3, 2013, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed Paquette to a three-year, entry-level contract,[1] and he was assigned to start the 2013–14 season with their AHL affiliate, the Syracuse Crunch.[2] On April 11, 2014, after posting 20 goals and 22 assists, with 153 penalty minutes, in 70 games played with the Syracuse Crunch, the Tampa Bay Lighting recalled Paquette to join their NHL roster.[3]
On November 4, 2014, the Tampa Bay Lightning recalled Paquette from the Syracuse Crunch, which was the second recall of the season after having appeared in four games with the team.[4] On November 6, 2014, Paquette scored his first two NHL goals as the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Calgary Flames 5-2 that night.[5]
