Overview[edit | edit source]

"Capers" is the name of the sports teams of Cape Breton University, located in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. It was formerly known as College of Cape Breton (CCB) and University College of Cape Breton (UCCB). They formerly competed in college and university hockey and remain members of the Atlantic University Sport (AUS) conference and U Sports (formerly known as CIS) in other sports.

History[edit | edit source]

From 1968 to 1987 the Capers competed in the Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA), which is affiliated with the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA). The ACAA discontinued hockey competition after the 1986-87 season. The Capers then joined the Atlantic Universities Athletic Association (AUAA) hockey league from 1987-88 to 1994-95. In 1999 the conference changed its name to Atlantic University Sport (AUS).
