It currently owns the rights to Hockey Night in Canada which is a Saturday night television broadcast of National Hockey League games, mostly in Canada.

The CBC has been broadcasting Hockey Night in Canada since 1936 when it was on radio. Television coverage stared in 1952 when this media was started in Canada.
